Description
The building is featured by the ancient and magnificent villa, core of the farm, which once belonged to Marchesi Torregiani.
Reception is at the Fattoria di Montecchio while the flats are at Agriturismo La Papessa, the two buildings are not far from each other. In the event of a late arrival, please pass by the Fattoria di Montecchio for information on how to reach the flats.
The park, vineyards and red earth of this hill are the main features and reflect the true colours of Tuscany landscape.
Agriturismo La Papessa consists of two stone-buildings with a wide park that is both at apartments and at all our clients disposal.
You can also find a nice wood-burning oven and a barbecue on the wide terrace from where you can enjoy a wonderful view and where you can relax sitting at our wooden tables, Against hot weather days you can get refrigeration in our swimming pool placed under nicely smelling olive trees.

FANTASTISCH verbleven hier, echt genoten samen met de kinderen. De wijnproeverij (inbegrepen) was een mooie beleving. Komen graag terug!
A perfect place to stay in a beautiful environment. The house was nice and clean, a tennis court available and a swimming pool. We had a wonderful time. The swimming pool could have been cleaned a little sooner, but that's a minor point of criticism.
We absolutely loved our stay at La Papessa. The house was super spacious, clean and close to the pool. We had a private outside area with table, chairs, an umbrella and a clothes drier rack. Bonus, amazing sunsets! Walking distance from San Donato (900m), with two restaurants that are super different but both very good. We did have home meals during our stay, there is a grocery store in San Donato (COOP) and two specialty charcuterie shops. I do recommend both Bars (caffès) for coffee and drinks (one has gelatos). The location is center to many great must see villages and cities in Tuscany (Sienna, Firenze, San Giminiano, etc.) Our family absolutely recommends La Popessa! After 9 nights, we did not want to leave. Thanks again for an amazing vacation and lifelong memories!

Bellissima esperienza
Ein Aufenthalt im Agriturismo La Papessa ist ein echter Tipp für einen schönen Toskana-Urlaub - mit der Familie oder in einer kleinen Freundegruppe. Die Ferienhäuser sind idyllisch gelegen, in der für die Toskana so typischen Hügellandschaft zwischen Olivenbäumen und Weinreben und nur wenige Gehminuten vom hübschen Dorf San Donato in Poggio entfernt. Highlights wie Florenz oder Siena können in einer halben Autostunde erreicht werden, selbst ein Tag am Meer ist machbar. Das Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Der Gemeinschaftspool ist groß genug und mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen ausgestattet; ihn mit den anderen Gästen zu teilen war nie ein Problem. Die Mitarbeiter haben uns herzlich empfangen und mit reichlich Tipps versorgt. Wir empfehlen, an der Weinverkostung inklusive Besuch im Weinkeller teilzunehmen. Unsere Ferienwohnung bestand aus einer großen Wohnküche, zwei Doppelzimmern und einem Bad im Erdgeschoss, einem Zweibettzimmer und einem Bad im Obergeschoss soweit einer eigenen Terrasse, auf der schöne Abende verbracht werden können. Das Bad im Erdgeschoss ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Dusche könnte eine Renovierung vertragen. Die Küche punktet mit einem großen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach und einem Geschirrspüler. Dafür ist das Kochequipment eher übersichtlich, weitere Utensilien wären wünschenswert. Insgesamt haben wir die Woche im Agriturismo La Papessa sehr genossen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
